Mortar Bed Tub Surround

In my opinion, the mortar bed is still the best method for installing tile in showers and tub surrounds. In this older photo series, I install tumbled travertine in a home near Atlanta, GA. This is a one coat method over water resistant gypsum board. When not using the board, the installer would add a scratch coat prior to the brown coat.
